The NBA Season May Be on Hold, but NBA Style Won’t Stop

Last month, in the wake of multiple players testing positive for Covid-19, the league that turned “NBA style” into a thing announced it was postponing its current season. It was one of the first major American institutions to take such a drastic step, and the move was undoubtedly a blow to hoops fans across the globe. No more high-flying slam dunks, buzz-beating jump shots, or jaw-dropping alley-oops. Also…no more friendly scarf-themed style showdowns or big-style, game-day fits! However, the lack of games hasn’t stopped some of the NBA’s most fashion-inclined youngsters from turning to Instagram during quarantine to show off their latest fits. Here are a handful of looks to hold you over until the league is officially back in business.

Jaylen Brown: The Eternally Cozy Fit

The breakout Celtics star isn’t about to let spending the day on the couch get in the way of getting a fit off. Brown posed in skinny jeans and a worn-in hoodie by the beloved Los Angeles brand Rhude. Plus, he went with the three-image gallery post too. Gotta show off multiple angles of the fit.

P. J. Tucker: The Clean-and-Classic Athleisure Fit

Some might say that you should leave the fit pics to the NBA youngsters, but Tucker will have none of that. The 34-year-old posted up in a graphic long-sleeve tee and sweat-shorts (and some Jordans) to promote his own brand, the Better Generation. All of the proceeds from sales went to a Houston food bank, so fear not, as the self-promotion was for a good cause.

Michael Porter Jr.: The NBA2K Kidd

Porter Jr. takes his NBA2K seriously. Serious enough that the Nuggets star donned Rhude track pants and a Puma Basketball tee on his way to play some video games. He even made sure to carry a duffel bag for the on-court kicks.

Troy Daniels: The “Spring Is Finally Here” Fit

Spring is finally here, which means the return of loud colors and even louder prints. Daniels went with a Jackson Pollock–esque shirt from the unisex label PORTSV, pastel-pink joggers, and a fresh pair of Supreme-adorned Air Force 1s.

Kyle Kuzma: The King of Hiatus Fits

But it wouldn’t be a fit gallery without an entrant from Kyle Kuzma, fresh off GQ’s Big Fits From Home portfolio. The 24-year-old Lakers forward has turned his hallway into his own stadium tunnel and filmed himself doing the “tunnel walk” in several high-style outfits. There’s flashy sneakers, bucket hats, crossbody bags, and even a fuchsia-colored suit. Bonus points for setting the footage to a dreamy Majid Jordan song.
